Introduction

Air Force School Hebbal has a long tradition of service and progress in the field of education over the last 40 years. The school was started initially as 'Nursery School' during 1958-59 on occupation of this Campus by HQ Trg. Comd. IAF. In June 1965 the primary classes of the school were handed over to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sagngathan for forming KV Hebbal and the Nursery Section remained with the Unit. However, due to inability of local Kendriya Vidyalaya to absorb all the children of Service personnel, it became necessary to start Class again during 1977-78 and the School was re-named as Air Force School,  Hebbal and since then the school started expanding every  year. The School mainly caters to the educational requirements of children of personnel working in H.Q Training Command (Unit), Air Force and its lodger units. However, the children of other personnel are also admitted subject to availability of seats and fulfilling other terms and conditions of admission. The School has Lower K.G and Upper K.G in the Nursery section, Standard I to V in Primary section and VI to X in the Secondary section and XI & XII in Sr. Sec section.

The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education up to class XII vide letter No. CBSE / AFF / 8321 / 98 / 2884 dated 28.8.98.

Aim

The aim if the school is to provide education to the children of service personnel who do not secure admission in KVs, as per syllabus prescribed by CBSE, New Delhi.

The school aims at strengthening the potentialities of the children by constructive and creative activities for all-round development of personality.

In addition to the above, building up character, team spirit, dedication to purpose, patriotic outlook and sense of citizenship are inculcated in children.
